With Liberty and Justice for All

*Disclaimer: This is NOT a political post!

My daughter, Savannah Grace, is well on her way to playing the role of Aunt Bethany in the movie Christmas Vacation. (give or take 75 years) If you don't know what I'm talking about watch the video below and then continue reading.

So, since she has started school she has not only been inundated with new information but she is also learning new pledges, mottoes and bible verses. She is learning the Pledge of Allegiance, the Star-Spangled Banner, the Pledge to the Bible and this past week they started doing weekly bible memory verses. Now I know that kids have a faster learning curve than us old folks but I have to admit that this seems like a lot to be "throwing" at them within the first 2 weeks of school, as exampled through the following:

We were in the car after school one day running some errands and this is how the conversation went:

Me: Savannah, how was your day today?

SG: Fine.

Me: Did you start learning a new Bible verse?

SG: Yes.

Me: Can you tell mommy what it is?

SG: (silence) hmmmmmmmmmm

Me: (So I started it for her hoping it would jog her memory) In the beginning...

SG: In the beginning (long pause)

Me: God

SG: (without skipping a beat) indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!

How cute is that? What are the funny things your kids say?

right now all jrew can do is let out a cry/scream that very much sounds like a little billygoat - all breathless and with a lower lip stuck out. LOL
